INNATE is a group of people who prescribe to individuality, imagination, and collaboration. In an environment designed to inspire, elevate, and engage, we persistently strive to progress and provide for ourselves and our community by way of positive influence.
Since November 2008, INNATE has set out to create and fill its own niche within the Bellingham community. As a full service screen printing shop, skate and snow gear shop, gallery and acoustic music venue, the energy is eclectic and attractive. Built on a strong foundation of holistic values and strong principles, INNATE's roots lie in the the conviction that each and every human is a beautiful, unique and invaluable member of their community's infrastructure and should be celebrated by any and all means.
INNATE has been on the Downtown Bellingham Art Walk circuit nearly every month since October of 2008, creating unforgettable evenings of local and original art works, live screen printing and live music. Alongside The Copper Hog, Red Bull and WWU Snowboard Club, INNATE spearheaded and facilitated Bellingham's first annual Winter BellingJAM, a winter sports exhibition and arts and music festival. Nearly 800 people showed up for the free event downtown Bellingham on February 15, 2009. The event was a resounding success and will continue annually. INNATE will continue to organize and promote music and arts events in the Pacific Northwest, encouraging local collaboration and social networking throughout the coming seasons, because as we know, team work makes that dream work.
INNATE Screen printing has worked its way into the local community as a natural fit. A design and printing commission for the Legendary Mt. Baker Banked Slalom 2009, work for local artists and photographers, Western Washington University's Campus Bookstore and various student clubs, the Bellingham School District, What's Up Magazine, local budding musical talent Acorn Project and The Productionists, nationally recognized hip hop act The Pack, and local non-profit organizations are just a few of our most recent clients. INNATE also has a fluctuating collection of graphics for one-off prints in the shop, allowing patrons to choose and customize their prints and wear them moments after printing. Continuing relationships with Mt Baker Ski Area and the Bellingham School District, local artist unions and cooperatives, as well as participating in summer festivals like Summer Meltdown and Whidbey Island's Choochokam Arts Festival will keep our mobile unit busy all summer long. We also offer a series of workshops, beginning with screen printing for youth and adults alike, we hope to continue to teach and share with the community in all art forms from music to skateboarding and mural painting.
As we adapt and change, grow and prosper, INNATE hopes to encourage individuals to realize their inherent abilities and unlimited potential to express themselves through any and all mediums. A cause for an everlasting effect, a feeling and a movement, it is an internal obligation to build upon an age-old blueprint for a collective purpose: to nurture and build upon each others innate abilities for a greater good. INNATE is a blossoming manifestation of passion and creative intuition.
