Vaughn Kreestoe, native to the Bellingham area, they’ve made their way to the Seattle area as well. They’ve been noted by The Triple Door before by Greg Keefe as being “…a tight band they sound like they’ve been together a decade, not a year. They may have been labeled a jazz band due to effortless improvisation, but they bring on the funk…”. They’ll be showcasing their cd release party live the night of the show. It’s a night to celebrate their group’s production of music of their album being released to the Northwest people. Check out their album released on www.kreestoe.com

The Productionists, although a Bellingham grown band, have been culminating their works and creating in Seattle for the past three years at Undercast Studios, and their hoping to make a bigger rep and showcase their chops. They’ve already been impressive to the audience in Bellingham and noted in What’s Up! Magazine as, “…melodically rich collection of soulful ballads and rap verses, with the inclusion of more musical genres than Lil’ John could shake his pimpstick at…the ability to garner any spot on any quality DJ Mix…” . You can find their music
and more at www.productionists.com

The Endorfins may look young and you may think of them as f.o.b (fresh off the boat)— but they can bring it. A fave of the bands in Bellingham, they’ve opened up for groups like Acorn Project and Macklemore. For a group of guys younger than 21, their music holds the maturity past their own age. It’s no surprise how these boys have gotten recognition from their music on ESPN either http://espn.go.com/video/clip?id=4936798 which shows their talent beyond probably what even they can fathom. An all instrumental band that sounds so good, they don’t even need lyrics. Grab their EP at www.endorfins.bandcamp.com

Although Kreestoe and The Productionists have been in the game for a couple years now and The Endorfins are still a little premature, these bands are still upcoming and ready to get it at Nectar. Come out and show your support in Northwest music.

Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. After the age of 17 I wanted to venture out of the ol’ stomping ground.
In 2001, I moved to San Diego and began doing art as a career.

I worked for a conservation studio repairing vintage posters from the 1890′s to the 1980′s.
This job was inspiring for me as an artist.

In 2003, I moved to Miami,Florida to be closer to my Cuban family, to absorb the culture and work on my paintings.

After a few years in Miami I moved back to Washington. I lived in Seattle for a few years and then moved to Bellingham .

Where are you going?
Well, I hope to go many places. Germany for sure, I have family there.

What is the mediums for your art?
I use several different mediums to create my art.
I use canvas and wood, and mainly paint in acrylic and screen print in acrylic too.
Much of my work is large format (2′ X 4′, or larger).
I stretch and burn all my own screens. I also incorporate vintage materials into my paintings and screenprints.

What influences your art?

The main things that influence my art are people and their relationship to their culture.
I love to capture moments. Color plays a huge role in my work too.
I am always analyzing the color of things and the way it makes me feel.

Where are you from?
I’m originally from Federal Way, WA. and later moved to the mean streets of Bellingham, WA.

Where are you going?
In the future the only definite plan I have is to continue expanding my artistic boundaries. The future is very broad at this point. We’ll see where the wind blows me, but
I need to be apart of a community with more artistic opportunities.

Medium: The main medium I use is spray paint, but I also tend to incorporate acrylic paint and wheat paste.

Influences: My work is mainly influenced by my spontaneity, in general I enjoy using images that I can feel I can relate to through emotions or that represent a certain state of mind.”
