Lucas Vidana

full-people

Where are you from?
I was born and raised in Tacoma, WA. After the age of 17 I wanted to venture out of the ol’ stomping ground.
In 2001, I moved to San Diego and began doing art as a career.

I worked for a conservation studio repairing vintage posters from the 1890′s to the 1980′s.
This job was inspiring for me as an artist.

In 2003, I moved to Miami,Florida to be closer to my Cuban family, to absorb the culture and work on my paintings.

After a few years in Miami I moved back to Washington. I lived in Seattle for a few years and then moved to Bellingham .

Where are you going?
Well, I hope to go many places. Germany for sure, I have family there.

What is the mediums for your art?
I use several different mediums to create my art.
I use canvas and wood, and mainly paint in acrylic and screen print in acrylic too.
Much of my work is large format (2′ X 4′, or larger).
I stretch and burn all my own screens. I also incorporate vintage materials into my paintings and screenprints.

What influences your art?

The main things that influence my art are people and their relationship to their culture.
I love to capture moments. Color plays a huge role in my work too.
I am always analyzing the color of things and the way it makes me feel.
